Stainless Steel Worktops
Stainless Steel Worktops from DSM represent the perfect solution for any modern professional catering or domestic kitchen. Steel Worktops offer the most practical and high quality solution for any bespoke catering environment, whilst providing beautiful aesthetics suitably for any high end domestic kitchen.
Our Stainless Worktops are made completely bespoke to order, to fit any situation or application and manufactured from the highest quality 304 (1.4301) food grade stainless steel, or 316 (1.4404) chemical resistant laboratory grade, stainless steel in a thickness of 1.2mm (18 gauge). Our counter tops can be manufactured in various sizes from 40mm to 3850mm in length and 40mm to 1450mm in width, with an edge thickness anywhere between 10mm and 100mm.
Our worktops and sink tops are supplied with an integral 18mm moisture resistant MDF sub-frame bonded to the underside (25mm and multiple layer options available). This makes them incredibly strong and rigid, whilst making installation simply a matter of screwing down onto the base units below.,
Our prices are very competitive with full size worktops starting from £146 +VAT for 304 grade stainless, and £152 +VAT for 316 grade stainless – which, given the extreme long life expectancy of our worktops, makes them exceptional value for money.
We deliver our worktops and sink tops all over the UK and Ireland on next day pallet or dedicated courier services as required. Our customers are welcome to to collect from us also if they wish.
Our Metal Worktops offer a number of qualities not available with other worktop materials:
Integral features – Require a sink bowl integrated half way along your worktop? No problem! A round wash hand bowl integrated at one end? Not and issue! An integral drip tray or recessed draining area? Easily done! In fact you can have almost any variation or combination of items included within a stainless steel worktop, and all can be fully welded and polished within it, leaving no seams or transitions, resulting in them being a fully integral part of the worktop. This isn’t possible with ANY other worktop material.
We stock a range of standard bowl from 420mm x 350mm x 200mm deep up to the very large 610mm x 455mm x 300mm. In addition we can make a bowl with 32mm radii throughout to any size you require, right the way up to an almost bath sized 1800mm x 1000mm x 450mm deep! Any of these bowls can be integrated, fully welded and polished, into your worktop where ever your design requires them.
Heat resistant – stainless steel worktops are completely resistant to heat, indeed the raw metal sheets have to be heated to around 1400 degrees Celsius when welding worktops and bowls during manufacture. Hot pans can be placed directly on the worktop surface from the hob or oven without any fear of heat damage. Even stone products such as granite will mark with such use, but stainless steel is completely resistant to this level heat.
Impact Resistant – Stainless steel is an incredibly strong and durable metal, in addition all our worktops and sinks are bonded to a layer of moisture resistant MDF which makes the countertops even stronger and more rigid whilst also allowing for very easy fitting to the kitchen units beneath. This results in a worktop that is more than capable of standing up to the rigours of a busy commercial kitchen, and by extension even better suited to provide more than adequate durability for a domestic kitchen.
Hygiene – Stainless steel is a naturally hygienic material. Studies have shown that bacteria in particular struggle to adhere to the surface of stainless steel as easily as they do to other countertop materials. In addition simple cleaning of stainless worktops is significantly more effective at eliminating bacteria that it is on other surfaces, where harsher chemicals are often required.
Environmentally Friendly – not many people realise this fact, but stainless steel is THE most environmentally worktop material available. Not only are the raw stainless steel sheet used to manufacture our worktops already composed of around 60% recycled material, but the worktop itself can be fully recycled.
Minimal maintenance – Little is required to keep stainless worktops looking their best. A regular wash down with warm soapy water, a rinse with fresh water afterwards, and drying with a soft cloth is all that is needed. No harsh polishes, abrasives or other specialist chemical are need as is often required with other worktop materials.
Lifespan – If properly looked after (and by that we mean basic and simple regular cleaning) stainless worktops will outlive virtually any other item in the average kitchen, often, sadly, even outliving their owner. They will never corrode, chip, crack or deteriorate over time and will provide a lifetime of uninterrupted service. No other worktop material can make this claim. Old worktops can even be re-polished in our factory, for minimal cost, often bringing them back a full and brand new finish.
Value for money – Stainless steel worktops compare very favourably in terms of initial price, with other high quality kitchen worktop materials, and start at full size worktops start at £142 + VAT – however considering that stainless steel will outlive all other material by several times, the average cost per year of useful life is actually much lower than even the cheapest available materials.
Whether our worktops are intended for use in a busy restaurant kitchen, or a slickly designed high end home, every single worktop we manufacture is made to order, and is completely unique. Restaurant owners and catering managers can rest assured that they can obtain exactly the convenience and layout they require for their professional kitchen, whilst proud home owners can be content in knowing that their new worktop, of their own design, will exist nowhere else in the world!
We can manufacture and sell most worktop designs, and really the only limit is your imagination. That said, we will always work with our clients to determine the most cost effective solution that fully meets their needs.
